Preparation

Your artificial grass will be delivered in a roll. In order to ensure that you install a totally flat surface, the grass should be un-packed and rolled out across the installation area for a couple of hours before being stuck down or fixed in place. Weighing it down at the edges might help this process.

Installation

With the grass already laid out across the installation area, it can be easily cut to fit the precise measurements or shape of the garden using a Stanley knife or even scissors. Make sure not to trim too much away so that the grass is flush against its surroundings. Load the adhesive cartridge into the applicator and apply generously to the edges on the underside of the carpet. We recommend approximately one cartridge per six linear metres when applying directly to a patio or stone surface. When fixed in place, weigh down with garden furniture or heavy objects for twenty-four hours to make sure that the adhesive has bound the grass to the surface.

Proviso

The blades of grass in an artificial grass carpet are threaded into a hard backing material which provides a solid base so that the blades stand up and withstand foot-fall and bad weather. This backing material should be hard enough to cover over the gaps between patio slabs without divots or bumps emerging in the finished lawn - however if the pointing is very old, or has been done in such a way that there are large gaps between slabs, we recommend that they be filled in before laying the artificial grass carpet. Tiling adhesive or grouting would suitable for this job.
